Worst Weather Ever!!
Crikey, that was a cold, wet & windy one but it didn’t deter 7 of you from braving the elements and getting your fix of getting fit by doing good!
A special mention to Abi who chose the most challenging of weather conditions to make her Goodgym debut! I hope the weather hasn’t put you off, it’s not always that memorable!!
Our task tonight was to help out Hove Prom park runners by sweeping the pebbles off the prom to widen the area available for the runners. Most of the prom has already been cleared by some sterling efforts from regular park runners so there was just an area about 150m to sweep and shovel back. With the wind howling, the rain lashing and the sea foam flying we worked our soaked socks off and pushed the stones back about 4 metres by 150m so about 600m2 of pebbles swept in about 30 minutes. Amazing! And a great workout!
Special thanks to regular parkrunner and prom skater David for meeting us on such a foul night but more importantly for instantly replying to my request for any pebble/Christmas themed puns with tonight's cracker!!
So that’s all for 2018 folks, unless of course you would like to sign up to some missions over the Christmas period. If so I suggest signing up in the next few days to give head office a chance to get something arranged. I know there are a couple of missions that need another to sign up to go ahead so check them out and see if you’re free.
We are back on 8th January when we will be cleaning the community kitchen and then on 12th January (after our monthly parkrun meet up) we will be running an extra group run where we will be helping out at seniors accommodation Sloane Court.
So have an amazing Christmas and New Year, perhaps I’ll see some of you at the double parkrun on New Year’s Day (hangovers permitting!)
And thank you!! For all being so awesome and supporting the great project that is Goodgym.
