On a St George's Day with very changeable weather three GoodGym vets met for a successful third and final visit to clear Mrs O's front garden

Mrs O had recently received two visits from a total of 11 Goodgymmers who trimmed back and cleared her overgrown back garden but this third and final mission was all about the front.

The front garden was full of:

  • vines
  • thorns
  • twigs
  • branches
  • snails!

But nothing Andy, Bryon and I couldn't handle. I booted up my famous speaker and played the chilled out yet inspirational tunes from my "stretch" playlist and we set off to work.

We hacked, pulled and pruned pretty much everything in sight and chatted about the alarming number of celebrities passing away this year so far and, most recently, Prince (singer of Sign O The Times).

It was a chilly day so we were delighted to come across Mrs O's neighbour (who had provided the Power Mint in our first visit) who offered us a warming and reinvigorating pot of tea and biscuits.

We paused for a chinwag and then had a final push to clear the mini jungle. Bryon and I then bagged up the trimmings while Andy became quite obsessed with pulling vines from the alleyway!

After a couple of hours we'd cleared the walkways and much of the overgrowth to fill three industrial size waste bags. It was pleasing to see Mrs O so happy and she was amazed to see plants she hadn't seen in years.

We said our farewells and ran our separate ways to warm up and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
