Tonight we welcomed a new member to the fold, Emma formerly of GoodGym Tower Hamlets joined us for her first Goodgym Croydon session and her 96th good deed, we’ll be having a double celebration at the end of the month as our new social secretary Emma will also be celebrating her 100th good deed. No pressure at all Emma.

Well done to Ian and Nicola who despite running 13.1 miles in Sunday’s heat from Tower Bridge to Greenwich, came out to play. They didn’t take those lovely medals along with them to show us but we were happy to see them and congratulate them on completing another Big Half. Well done Dovile, Oliver Pete and Paul (finally made it) for also flying the Goodgym Croydon flag at this year’s race. Hopefully, next year we’ll have a bigger contingent representing us. 👀 Ros, Ingrid, Hannah, Emma, Liz and Kate 👀 for those not ready for a HM there is also the option of the relay get your team ready let’s show them GGCroydon is out there!!

Tonight we ran/walk 2.3km, to West Croydon Baptist church to assist Croydon Refugee Day Centre, they have been on a break over the summer holiday and today was their day back. Upon arrival we could see that there was a big turn out today by their service users as there was a lot of empty hangers on the clothing rack. Simon, instructed us on what he would like us to do and told us he would be very impressed if we were able to hang label and hang the clothes that were on the table onto hangers and placed them on the clothes rails. As there was only 5 of us today he said he understand we wouldn't be able to get to clear the clothes on the table but little did he know that we are always up for a challenge. Not only did we clear the clothes on the table but we also was able to tackle another pile of clothes that needed to be labeled and hung plus stored the racks away in the storage room all in the time we were there. We were rewarded with Kit Kats by Simon and he thanked us for what we had done while trying to arrange a date for another visit.

Next week we'll be going back to Nursery sign up here
