Report written by Ipswich runner
Our last Group Run before Christmas was full of festive cheer.
Santa hats (tick), mince pies (tick) christmas trees (tick) and presents (tick) long run (tick)......doesn't everyone run at Christmas / all the time?
Our task was at Castle Hill Community Centre - painting upstairs on a landing - to complete a task started a few weeks ago. On arrival we were greeted with presents of mince pies and crisps - we've done a number of visits to the centre and this was a token of their appreciation of all the work Goodgym Ipswich has done in the venue.
However, work was the priority and everyone got stuck into the brushes, rollers and magnolia paint - there's even photographic evidence of me brandishing a paint brush - apparently I usually just watch others work and take photos!
There was some expert painting skills being displayed - particularly memorable was watching Kerry with a brush in each hand and Steve stretching across from the top of a step ladder. This all contributed to a tremendous job that unfortunately we couldn't quite complete on the evening.
Before departing we all enjoyed our crisps and mince pie treats. Some regretting eating as the homeward run began!
We stopped in the town centre to have a photo by the Christmas tree on the Cornhill in front of the town hall to complete the Christmas list and reflect on a year of Goodgym good deeds in Ipswich.
Happy Christmas x
