Amazing runners from Facebook HQ ran 4km to help tidy up at The Story Garden!

This was my second visit to the Facebook office and great to be back, this time with lots of fresh new faces!

We headed outside for a quick little warm up and then set off on our run to The Story Garden. 2km later we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Martina who told us a bit more about the garden and the work that Global Generation do as a charity which is amazing. And I'm sure you'll agree, it's so wonderful to see such a lovely (and big!) garden tucked away in the middle of central London! Hopefully some of you will be able to come along and enjoy it for yourselves now you know it's there!

We got our gloves on and split up into two groups. The main job was filling the skip with loads of the old wooden boards that had come over from the other site as well as other rubbish and the second task was filling a raised bed with soil! Without any messing around everyone got stuck in! Taking great care to stack the wood inside the skip nice and neatly so we could get as much stuff in there as possible!

It was great to see everyone working together! We also had a few late arrivals but they immediately got involved too! NICE WORK!!

After 45 minutes or so it was time to be on our way. The skip was pretty much full to the brim and the raised bed was looking wonderful with a nice thick layer of soil! GREAT JOB!!

A quick photo in front of all our hard work and then we headed back off on our run. We ran a slightly different route back to the office and arrived with a little bit of time to spare.. just about enough time for a bodyweight circuit! 2 rounds of step ups, single leg squats and tricep dips on the stone steps/structures outside the office and then we called it a day!

Absolutely amazing work yesterday from all of you! I hope you had a nice afternoon, thanks for taking the time out of your day to come along, you really made a huge difference and all your work was very much appreciated by those at the garden so thank you!

Remember there are LOADS of other ways to get involved with GoodGym, we do these types of session all the time throughout the week so check out your local one and swing by! Have a wonderful rest of the week and hopefully see you on another GoodGym run soon!
