Today there were 7 brave runners, ignoring the sudden drop in temperatures, willing to go out and help create a secret garden.

Andrea was even suffering from a cold but being hardcore and wanting to show off her new reflective headband still turned up! We could all learn a little from her! Nice one Andrea!! We also found out that it was rainbow reflective....not just ordinary! Very stylish! Andrew had invested in a watch that would allow him to keep tabs on all his progress and all the exercise and cross fit workouts he does during the week! Gadgets are great if they keep you motivated!

Daryl, Caprice and Neil are running the Dark Valley Half Marathon this weekend and they used the run to keep their bodies ticking over.

The run to the garden was only around 2.5 km, and like we usually do we stuck together all the way there keeping an easy pace so that we could catch up on what we'd been up to.

Michael was waiting for us around the side of St Clement's church to let us know what we'd be doing. There was a huge pile of rubbish that hadn't been taken care of by a controlled fire so we were tasked with carrying it into wheelbarrows and then wheeling it to the school to then unload it into the skip.

Whilst loading the wheelbarrows we had to be careful not to fall into the pond which was right next to us...yes, very dangerous work, I'm sure that pond was at least 6m deep and had carnivorous frogs and newts!

We were struggling to fit anything else onto the skip when Ross came up with his very "positive" skip law which was: " If it's on, it's in!" Hahahaha. But we made sure everything was safe and nothing would fall off! After half an hour of turbo loading we ran out of time, and confirmed the task for next week with Michael and set off towards the promenade....yes I love running along the beach!

On our run back I suggested we do some intervals to get our heart rates up a little and the team were eager to impress! We did 20 seconds running at around 80% of our maximum speed and then 40 seconds recovery which was a gentle jog and doubling back to join with those who were further back. Neil, Abi, Andrew and Caprice were feeling strong and pushed themselves. Well done!

This evening we came across many other runners and it was tempting to stop them all and tell them all about GoodGym...but runners never like stopping do they!

We got to Bournemouth Pier and this time we ran up through the gardens and managed to see them setting up the Ice Rink they erect there each Christmas....after a quick chat we established that none of us had a talent for ice skating and that Abi and me have a fear of falling over on the ice and having someone slices our fingers off.....gruesome fears!!

When we got back we did our stretching and quickly went into Flirt Cafe to line up to try their free cheese and cider tasting options! They were delicious! They even had vegan cheese! 5 of us stayed on and had a drink and some dinner and chatted about the world and the state of things, veganism, the overuse of plastic and recycling....yes a very Eco friendly evening!!!

Well done to everyone! You guys are the best! Good luck to Daryl, Caprice and Neil running the half this Saturday. They are also helping out at the Zombie run in the morning along with Abi and Ross! I hope you guys scare the living daylights out of everyone!!

Have a great week team!
