Anna and Sophie ran to visit Mrs B whose garden had got a bit out of hand. Mrs B told us how when she first moved to the house, she had used bricks from a nearby bomb site to make the borders and paths in the garden, but that now it's only really her dog who uses the garden and it's now very overgrown. Mrs B armed us with an alarming variety of tools, including a strimmer and a pooper scooper, but obviously had second thoughts about our strimming ability and instructed us just to clear the flowerbeds! We set to work attacking brambles, rose bushes and weeds, encountering a large amount of wildlife along the way - slugs, snails, frogs, and woodlice - and were joined every so often by Mrs B's dog who was a bit bemused at the unusual level of activity in his garden! An hour later we had cleared a pretty big mountain of weeds, and managed to find the paths and brick border again. Mrs B was pleased that the garden was looking a bit tidier, but we're hoping to be able to return next week to finish off the end of the garden.
