This was the first Community Mission that I've led in a few months due to various injuries and it was great!
Six of us came together (Myself, Lauren, Liz, Louise and Tom and Sam) this morning to help Shieldfield Art Works.
This was a huge flyer drop to promote a new local project in Shieldfield, Newcastle. We had thankfully been provided with a detailed map which meant we could tick off streets as we went along.
The flyers were to advertise the first stage of "Shieldfield Wheatfield" This an urban art project which will grow wheat in Shieldfield and will aim to harvest 10kg of flour. This will then be used to bake around 10 community loaves to share at a harvest event in September 2020.
They are on the lookout for people to be involved, whether it be helping to build raised beds in the Garden at Shieldfield Art Works (13th/14th March), or looking after a container of wheat if you have some outdoor space from March to July.
We managed to deliver just over 550 flyers in under 2 hours which is amazing! (I recorded walking 17,000 steps/approximately 10km)
A huge well done to Lauren for completing her first GoodGym Community Mission!
Unofficial good deed of the day goes to Sam, who found a £10 note in a front garden of a house and posted it back through the letterbox!
