Round 2 of Balsam bashing with the Friends of Berrylands plus Caroline, who took the time out of making dinner, to help out and to POP her Balsam bashing stems.

This time it was SNAP to Richmond, who turned 3 today and were also Balsam bashing on the Ham lands! Happy birthday guys! 🎂

We had a short time to admire our handy work from last week, before we went on a hunt for more walls of Balsam. Walls were quickly found, but where we found Balsam we also found Nettles. We attacked the walls by pulling at the roots while trampling brambles and some nettles along the way. As some reflected on our work we were compared to a balsam locust plague as we uprooted, snapped stems to stop the speading of the 250 to 800 seeds dispersed per plant and popped along to the next batch to bash!

After a solid hour of pulling, twisting, snapping and crunching balsam, it was tea and biscuits time, with the added twist of pineapple slices too and a couple of group photos.

If you have missed the first two rounds of bashing, fear not! The Friends will be repeating the same mission for the next two weeks, so as said previously promoted - - Roll up, roll up! Come one, come all because its Big Bad Berrylands Balsam Bashing Time!! 💪 😁
