Report written by Joel Wiles
11 soggy GoodGymers ran 5k to St Luke's Church to get it looking its best for the summer fair!!
On an evening more suited to an Ark than for running we had a team of hardcore GoodGymers including 2 amazing first timers (welcome Tamara and Carys) and 50 Good Deed Milestone hitter Eva
We headed over to St Luke's for the first time in a while to meet Keli who had a strong list of jobs ready for us to get stuck into!!
Huge Big up to Eva, Cecilia and Sooz for the ultra tough leaf bagging in the driving rain! 13 stuffed black bags in 40 minutes of action!!
While the rest of the crew worked hard sorting and repacking 2 huge shipping containers, moving 2 fridges, cleaning until it sparked a 3rd Fridge, and cleaning some incredibly dusty heaters and ledges. Working really hard for 40 minutes getting loads done - which Keli would have taken hours to do - and helping to get the Church ready for the summer fair.
We split for the run back to base, with the rain even heavier now, the long range runners headed out towards Victoria Park on a longer loop. The rest of joined the direct train back dropping off runners as we ran past their houses.
Back to base satisfied but soaking we celebrated a good evening's action before heading home to dry off!
Look forward to seeing you all next week for some painting action with Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation.
Have a great week!!
