The weather didn't treat us to nice sunny evening like last week but this didn't stop four hardy Goodgymmers getting to the start point for some community good deeding!
//Arriving// Helen came after being away for a bit and it was lovely to see her back! James got a bit of an injury but still managed to cycle in the rain and cold (wearing shorts of course)! Julia was enthusiastic assuming a run and was totally not dressed for a walk in the rain and Linda brought an umbrella the size of England to keep her and Helen dry on a walk:) We were waiting for Anila and Danielle but sadly they didn't come:(
//Good Deeding// Despite the rain in the last few days the planters under the bridge were very dry and needed a good watering. Linda & Helen got to filling up watering cans whilst James & Julia took care of picking out litter out of the planters - mostly chewing gum and cigarette butts! Together we managed to finish watering and had time to admire fantastic tulips that are now in full bloom! Originally we were going to replace a few planters but the bulbs are looking great and it was rainy so for now a bit of maintenance is all that was needed.
//Fitness Activity// With injuries and cold, we decided to do a group walk and half-way through decided to make it a short one as it was rainy, grey and cold! We did a nice loop around to get those steps up and finished slightly early having done a bit of exercise and helped a community project.
Well done everyone!!! I forgot to take more photos but Helen took a great one of Linda's mopping!
Please note, we will not have official group runs for the next two weeks due to bank holidays, however we have a PARKRUN TAKEOVER on the 6th of May - sign up here to join the volunteering and social afterwards:)
This is a resident and station led project to create a place that is lovely for locals to walk through with planters full of flowers and everygreens.
