Visited an isolated 90 year old.

After a recent fall, followed by a spell in hospital, the family had moved the bed and toilet facilities downstairs. There is enough space for it not to be cramped but my outgoing sociable friend was clearly feeling a bit shut in. After a little while a family member turned up to do the garden. My buddy bemoaned the fact that the back door keys had been taken away, it was explained that this was because there were stairs which are a hazard. I asked if the family were happy for me to escort my friend out there when I visit and it was agreed this was acceptable. Having got permission my Buddy changed her mind stating “well I can’t kneel down to do my own gardening if I do go out there and that’s what I really want to do.” I explained I really can’t help with that sort of agility issue but the ever optimistic the 90 year old said “never mind when my joints get better, I’ll get out there again.”
