CJ and Latoya met in Queens Park for a mission one mild morning in December. Friday 13th December, to be exact, but was the unlucky date or the turbulent night of election results the evening before going to put them off? Pfft, of course not. This is Goodgym: we're made of stronger stuff than that.

Our mission: move a single bed, previously used by Mr D, into the upstairs of the house, in order that his hospital bed could be installed in the front room. Met by a helpful neighbour, we were equipped with screwdrivers and house keys (Mr D was in hospital but set to come home soon).

It sounded so very simple, but it wasn't long before we encountered our first challenge: finding the stairs. Like the portals of an advent calendar, it felt as if we had opened every door in the house before Latoya finally tried a small, unassuming one in the kitchen, which, lo and behold, led to the first floor. Level up!

Moving the mattress was easy, mainly due to the fact that Latoya is a seasoned Goodgym furniture mover with excellent spatial awareness. In fact, she's a bit of a Goodgym mission junkie, with about 100+ missions accomplished (a healthy habit, we concurred).

On to challenge #2: moving the bed. We knew we would have to take the legs off to fit it up the stairs, so we got going with the screwdriver. Headboard and feet removed, we decided to have a go at moving the base part of the bed upstairs without taking it apart. We tried to make it easier by removing just a few of the slats, leaving some intact, which might let us move the bed without disassembling it all... But after giving it a good try, it was bed 1, Goodgymers 0. So we set about taking the whole thing apart.

It actually didn't take that long, and before we knew it, we had taken everything upstairs and accomplished the task successfully. All that was left to do was to take a proud slat selfie and leave the building!
