Santa Claus is coming to town, Santa Claus is Coming to town, Santa Claus CAMEWKto town!!!

What a truly wonderful evening. Karen, Nigel, Maurice & Nicola headed out for a night out in Nantwich with Santa. It was a very cold (and frosty) evening but that didn’t stop us from having fun with the big man himself!! We wrapped up warm, put on our comfy shoes and headed out around the streets of Nantwich with lots of other volunteers who had turned out to support Crewe & Nantwich Round Table with one of their annual fundraiser. A wonderful charity that supports llots of other amazing local charities.

It was a joyful evening… we met lots of lovely people as we went from door to door collecting for this fantastic organisation. The highlight of the evening though, was definitely the children who came to the doors, or to the edge of their streets, their eyes wide as they look for Santa to give him a wave. Santa was especially generous this year and was dishing out lollipops to the children as he went - how lovely! Christmas music was playing and despite the cold, everyone was in good spirits – how can you not be??

We clocked a total of 5.6 miles tonight!!! Pretty impressive!!! Halfway through the evening’s route, we were kindly welcomed into the home of one of the volunteers’ grandparents who had laid on hot dogs (and onions and sauce!!), hot drinks and chocolates!! How lovely is that? And what a wonderful welcome we all received. It was such a lovely treat and certainly helped to fill a gap! It really set us up for the rest of the evening. Thank you SO much for organising that for us. It's more appreciated than uoi know!!

Just as last year, another highlight of the night was riding on the trailer with Santa!! Such great fun, even though it was freezing, lol!

I can’t let the report pass without a shout out for those who sacrificed watching the football this evening…. I know it wasn’t easy to miss the world cup semi-final in favour of a night out with Goodgym. That’s true dedication!

Well, if you weren't already feeling Christmassy, you can't fail to be after tonight's task! :)

Well done everyone. Another wonderful task supporting a wonderful charity! You're amazing!!
