Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
Mrs F had a short but complicated shopping list prepared for Sevan when he arrived, but first there was a more pressing problem. Her iPad wouldn't charge, so she couldn't join tonight's talk on Zoom. A bit of troubleshooting pointed the finger at the USB charger, so Sevan loaned Mrs F his powerbank while he went shopping.
Mrs F is a fan of vouchers, so Sevan had to learn how to use Waitrose's voucher system in Mrs F's app, so that he could go armed with photos of the best money saving barcodes on his phone. With a usage limit of 2 vouchers, the list included where to use one and if an item wasn't available, which other item should have voucher savings applied. It could've been simpler.
Once in Waitrose, things were mostly straightforward until it came to the wine. Haddock ✅, notepad ✅, kitchen towel ✅, 6 bottles of mineral water ✅. Neither Sevan nor the colleagues could find the brand of Pinot Grigio that Mrs F wanted. Sevan called Mrs F, who didn't answer as she'd managed to join her Zoom call, so after lots of searching, he went back partly empty handed. No wine, tartare sauce forgotten and he'd bought laundry detergent rather than fabric softener 🤦♂️. Everything including Sevan squeezed into the tiny lift and travelled up to Mrs F's flat.
Apart from the detergent, Mrs F was pleased with her shopping, but was adamant that Waitrose was well stocked with her Pinot Grigio Trentino wine yesterday. She gave Sevan a side quest of removing her printer cartridges while she called Waitrose and demanded to know why he had been told that there was no stock. There should've been cases full of the stuff.
The bottle says pinot grigio and underneath is written Trentino. It's always in stock! Can you go to the Italian white wine section to check?
Sevan realised that Trentino was the region, not the brand. He explained to Mrs F and she managed to find the Alta Italia wine in her app, which did indeed say Trentino further down the label. Ok, a return visit to Waitrose was needed to buy the tartare sauce, find the wine and exchange the detergent...
Take 2 went much more smoothly. All items found and safely delivered to Mrs F
