Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tragedy! Our initial run to Brandon Hill was cancelled by our contact there. Luckily, our mightily efficient organiser Lisa had a back up plan, and we were soon in possession of several boxes of leaflets from Bristol Green Week ( biggreenweek.com/ ) to distribute. Phew.
At The Folk House, 6 runners set off with the leaflets and ran to Southville where they were speedily distributed. We’d been joined by new guy Richard, as well as other, more seasoned Good Gym runners. It was agreed that running whilst carrying a bundle of leaflets was a challenge, so it made the mile and a half run a lot harder than normal. Fortunately the threat of rain held off for our run and it was actually lovely running conditions.
It didn’t take long to distribute the leaflets as we pelted up and down the streets south of North Street (confused? We were!), and so, now unburdened, we lightly ran to Good Gym trainer Pru’s favourite outdoor exercise area, Queen Square, where the gang had a mini circuits session comprising of tricep dips, reverse rows, shuttle runs, lunges and press ups. – all tackled with the usual Good Gym vigour and enthusiasm! We jogged back to the Folk House and were serenaded by a singing wren as we stretched out.
As an aside, we seem to have had another encounter with Southville running club. Are they stalking us? We’ll see next Tuesday! It was also agreed for some reason that next time we run, it will be to the theme of Super Mario Kart. Best start learning the words.
