Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
8 people ran 6.4 km to spread the GoodGym word
Since July, we've been working on increasing distance and improving speed. Last night was a chance to put our training to the test with 4, 1-mile maps at tempo pace - relatively short efforts of hard running with a 2 minute break between each one. The first lap was used to warm up and to learn the route in and around London Fields, and a cool down was done after the session.
Runners were asked to go hard as well to speak to at least 5 passers by about the GoodGym.
GoodGymers did well! The laps weren't consistent (it's hard to know and find your pace straight away), but each one was faster than the last for each runner, and times ranged from 9.27 to 7 minutes and 57 seconds.
Anna B, proudly clad in her new GoodGym t-shirt, surprised herself (great arm swing Anna). Anna M came in strong at the end! Rebecca, spurred on by her first Mission Run at the weekend, flew. Anna W started with a Usain bang. Cassandra set new PBs and goals, and Daniel and Phil pulled out a corker last lap.
Good effort everyone, and lets get running more 5 ks and 10 ks soon!
Next week run to help deliver food parcels to the homeless in Dalston.
See you there. Ade
