Thank you to Rebecca Dale for volunteering today, bagging her self a good deed and parkrun volunteer prowess - She took on her favourite 'Finish Funnel duty' like an absolute Boss!! Thank you for your time, photos (a dog swimming in the boating lake?!) and enthusiasm.

I was stationed at the entrance to the finish funnel, equipped with a new walkie talkie to try out which was rather fun (come in rubber ducky, over!) It was great to put faces to all the volunteer names I've been tapping into the roster (could one of those names be yours next month?!)

Great to see fellow Goodgymmers Liz Kerr, Brad Day (photo shows you flying!) and Kevin Rowe!

This morning was a beautiful Spring morning. Todays Norwich parkrun was event number 451.

This week 532 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 45 were first timers (as far as the Isle of Wight don't you know!)

124 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 36 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 29 volunteers - of which 2 were from Goodgym! If you would like to volunteer read below.....

Richard POLLEY • Louise Amanda FORSTER • Andrew EARL • Stephanie MULLARNEY • Mark Andrew BAGNALL • Yvonne THOMSON • Chris GROVES • Charlie WATSON • Jason BRUNT • Mark FORSTER • Chris LEE • Laura PARRY • Sarah ADCOCK • Rajesh LOGASUNDARAM • Peter SCOTT • Callum HARLING • Rosie ADCOCK • Stephen ANDREWS • John MASON • Helen BOON • Claire WOOD • Hayley STRIVENS • Gillian QUINTON • Jonathan WRIGHT • Rebecca DALE • Carol PLUNKETT • Jessica PARKER • Rose REUBEN • Jamie UNDERWOOD

Love parkrun? Give some love back by volunteering!

Volunteer on a Saturday morning during the month of March, at Norwich parkrun (Eaton Park).

Meet at the bandstand at 8:30am with the run director and the other high-viz heroes.

You will have a full briefing of the mornings events and how to best support everyone participating at parkrun.

Tasks are varied and include: marshalling, scanning, giving out & sorting finish tokens, tail - walker and many more. All of the tasks are explained in full, easy to do and the tasks are a fun insight into how parkrun runs!

The volunteering role usually finishes around 10-10:30am.

Volunteering is great for example if you become injured, are just getting into running, or even have a race on the following Sunday! If you want to give back to the parkrun community & gain new experiences then parkrun volunteering is for you.

You will receive a point on your parkrun profile & if you volunteer 25 times you will gain a free purple 25 volunteer t-shirt!

If you would like to volunteer at Norwich parkrun and in turn receive a Goodgym good deed you will need to email:

norwichhelpers@parkrun.com to let them know you are able to volunteer.

Also let them know in your e-mail that you are part of Norwich Goodgym!

Because we work with vulnerable adults and our runners participate at their own risk, participants need to be over 18.

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Hayley - Norwich parkrun Volunteer Organiser
