Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)
An exciting evening awaited our team of GoodGymmers as 10 runners and five walkers headed from Queen Square to one of our favourites, Brunswick Cemetery. Our hosts may have been delayed on their return from holiday but it’s one of those places we’re allowed to do our own thing and had hand tools aplenty to set about weeding the stone circle, paths and between the graves (not digging too deep).
It was great to welcome Charis to her first GoodGym session - all on the recommendation of Vicky - we’re already looking forward to seeing you next time!
Vaguely Northern Darren had volunteered as photographer and has taken us to the heights of parkour and through the keyhole.
Many bags were filled and emptied behind “the tree” where there’s a dip in the ground, and bags were filled and not emptied when they were full of bindweed.
We ran (and walked) back and headed to Turtle Bay for a speedy Eats of ridiculously spicy food, but maybe that was just me. A great night all round with more to come on Bank Holiday Monday, fingers crossed.
