Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
12 lovely runners made their way up and down the never-ending hills to Camberwell Salvation Army for a baby clothes sorting bonanza!
Train strikes, snow warnings and January blues couldn't keep our lot away and we had some lovely Southwark first timers join us: hello Libby and Alex!
Once we were underway, Helena led the pack to make sure we made it to Janet and all of the baby clothes donations she had received all in one piece.
There was a tonne of the stuff
Christmas is clearly the time to sort through unwanted clothing and there had already been some expectant mums come to Janet in dire need of some clothes for their newborns. Having done this task before Michael was soon up the ladder and into the loft passing empty and full boxes down for us to work through. This time last year, we'd found a Millwall babygrow and a scary spice baby's jacket; the challenge was on to find 2017's best baby outfit...
... Lucky for us, a Tottenham Hotspurs 3 piece baby kit was to hand and thus we found our outfit of the night!
40 minutes of hardwork label searching, folding and much cooing over cute mini things and we were done. As well as the warm fuzzy glow of doing helpful things, we are always spoilt by Janet when we come to visit and tonight it was Jaffa Cakes... cake or biscuit?
Fuelled up, we set off on the two miles home, up and down hills and back to Old Spike for a stretch and a chat about all of the anniversaries of GoodGym coming up join in here.
Well done, a nice 4 miles completed and not even half way through January...
