Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Juliet Stevenson
Fresh from running and volunteering at the new South Norwood parkrun, 4 Croydon GoodGymers headed to Ms S’s house for a morning mission. Ms S needed us to clean a few of the conservatory windows and also paint the decking area at the back of the house.
After clearing the garden furniture off the decking, we set to work first on the windows. Between the 4 of us it didn’t take too long and Ms S was very happy to have a clearer view of her garden through the freshly cleaned windows.
Next we turned out attention to the decking, just as Ms S presented us with a much needed cuppa and biscuits to fuel our work. Painting the more intricate railings took a bit longer than we had expected, but once we started on the floor part we made good progress. With Dom’s excellent rolling technique and Juliet, Anna and I on the brushes, we managed to finish the job just before it looked like it was going to start raining.
This was a really fun mission and a great opportunity to help out Ms S, who has been an active champion for GoodGym since she first heard about us. We all know the best missions involve us leaving dirtier that we arrived, so Dom’s hands say it all!!
