Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Elizabeth
This morning I met up with Yakngki for a mission in Waltham Forest for Mrs I.
Mrs I is currently awaiting delivery of a new hospital bed to aid her recovery at home. However, some space needed to be made for it by moving a double divan bed from a downstairs room to a spare upstairs room. GoodGym were asked if we could help with this.
Having slightly misjudged how quickly I can eat a café breakfast (obviously I need some practice), I arrived at Mrs I's no more than a minute late, but very fragrant from my fast waddle (I call this type of run/walk with a full belly "penguining", in view of how it looks). Yangki did not seem to be perturbed by this, but he obviously has enough experience with GoodGymmers and furniture moving missions to be used to it. Within mere minutes, we were introduced to Mrs I's carer, and began.
Thankfully, the bed move went smoother than my penguining: mattress, over-mattress and two (connected) divan boxes went up without breaking anything other than a sweat. For our last move, we started to shift the (pretty heavy) headboard up the stairs, before being stopped by Mrs I as she wanted to keep it downstairs. I make it a principle to never object to things that make life easier for myself, so we returned it to its previous position and made our goodbyes.
Great working with you, Yangki: Enjoy the rest of the day! :)

I remembered the song "Star Trekking" last week when they changed Piccadilly to "Picard-illy", and its been trying to permeate everything I've written since then. Today, I finally gave in and embraced it :D
