Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tonight we ran between around 4km to help the local Salvation Army sort their food donations
Tonight we headed off through central Croydon dodging commuters and a few early pub goers to run to the Salvation Army in Booth Road. Tonight’s task involved checking, organising and storing food donations made recently to the Salvation Army which will be made up into food parcels for those most in need in Croydon. The super speedy runners completed the task in about 20 minutes which meant more time for fitness!
So off we headed to a bridge near the Wandle flyover and split into pairs to do some drills up and down the stairs working on cardiovascular fitness and also working these thighs and glutes. To stop them getting bored waiting for their fellow runners to come back down the steps they did squats, lunges, wall press-ups and star jumps. On the way back we had time for a quick relay race in the underpass. Two teams of five taking turns to skip then sprint back to the next in line – a competitive bunch I felt!
A big welcome too to Chen who came on his first run tonight - hope to see you back again.
Next week will be the long awaited mushroom task so don’t forget to sign up here
