Standing up to screw-tin-y
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 22nd of August 2020
Hannah and I met up at Mrs M’s on a sunny Saturday to assemble some flat pack furniture. Mrs M provided us with a screwdriver and we set to work on the chest of drawers, with Hannah assembling the drawers and me putting together the cabinet. When it came to attaching the back we realised we had no hammer but improvised with a series of tools including the handle of the screwdriver, a tin of corned beef and a sofa leg. With the chest of drawers done we moved onto the wardrobe. After a bit of a battle with the doors we realised we would have to admit defeat as our screwdriver was the wrong size. Mrs M still seemed happy with her new furniture though and hopefully the doors will be on soon!

Great mission Sophie and Hannah - great and creative use of a tin of corned beef! I've fed back to the referrer about a different size of screwdriver being needed so hopefully, we'll be able to go back and finish up the task soon.
