Eight intrepid explorers set out from the Showroom on a magical mystery tour of some Strava segments in Sheffield city centre. The first one came as no real surprise, with our local favourite short uphill sprint Howard Street, or Hard Street if you prefer.
Our route then took us round the City Hall, up and down side streets, around and across Dev Green, I threatened a hill, but had that in store for later, through a graveyard, down our very own newly created segement and round the best football stadium in the city. We then headed back towards our starting point only for the final hill segment to be presented at the last minute. I could hear a few people cursing my name under their breath, but at the top everyone was euphoric!
An amazing effort from everyone that came along, everyone being rewarded with shiny new medals on Strava, plenty of Cups and even a few Crowns! I even managed a new PB on Hard St when we finally finished, thanks to Kat for being the only other person mad enough to have another go at that segment after completing the previous dozen!
The joy of segments means we will run this route again in the future and see how our times compare, while this was a pretty tough session, it was great to see the group stick together and encourage each other to push their individual times.
Well done all!
