Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Simon Fitzmaurice
We had an awesome crew of Goodgymmers out tonight, enjoying a brisk but pleasant autumn evening in Islington. Sadly, our volunteering task has had to be postponed for another evening, but after a group discussion at the Emirates Hub, we decided to go out for a group run together instead. We were joined by newcomer Gideon (Welcome!), and we caught up with Meg before her big trip to New Zealand on Wednesday (Good Luck! We will miss you!).
Steve suggested a nice local run around Islington, following Liverpool Road and linking onto the New River Walk, and was happy to lead our group around the area. We started our tour with a little loop of Highbury Fields, before continuing our route towards Angel Station. Upon leaving the Holloway area, we past the pubs and bars on Essex Road, and found our way to the New River Walk (deciding not to run along the canal path in the dark). We popped out in Canonbury, and returned to Highbury Fields on our return to the Emirates. We were treated to a delicious array of cookies provided by Meg- much appreciated after a substantial long run!
