Report written by Kash
The carpetry and curtainsy specialists Sevan and Kash were hired to solve two Ms P's problems in 90 minutes. Did they leave their customer happy today?
Problem: The magic carpet in Ms P's living room does not stick well to the floor. It dreams of flying all around London and constantly tries to lift itself from the floor. It causes a safety risk to Ms P, who has problems with stability and trips over the carpet folds.
Materials: A square anti-slip mat, 10 anti-slip carpet stickers.
Steps:
1) Unplug and remove the big armchair from the carpet
2) Roll the carpet
3) Lay the anti-slip mat on the floor
4) Roll the carpet back
5) Distribute anti-slip stickers around the carpet
6) Fold the edge of the carpet up and sweep the dust from underneath
7) Apply stickers to the carpet in sections
8) Peel off the foil from the other side of the stickers and attach them to the floor
9) Test the carpet. Result: there's a gap between the mat and carpet edge that could be more secure
10) Unstick part of the carpet and attach the spare sticker to secure the dodgy gap
11) Test the carpet. Result: the carpet's dreams of flying are crushed forever!
12) Put the armchair back in place
Time for customer feedback!
Ms P : "Hooray! Looks amazing! I'm so thrilled! Do you know how long I've been waiting for someone to do that? Years! And you've done it!"
Problem: The curtains in Ms P's living room do not slide. Their personality is very turbulent. They either overshare information or are overly secretive about Ms P's life.
Materials: New big hooks, similar to the old ones; smaller hooks that can be attached to the big ones and attached to the curtain in an easy way
Steps:
1) Test the curtains from the ground level. Result: they don't slide
2) Go on the ladder. Test the curtains from a higher altitude. Result: they don't slide
3) Descend from the ladder. Take one new hook
4) Go on the ladder and replace one old hook with a new one
5) Test the new hook. Result: the curtains don't slide
6) Brainstorm
7) Descend from the ladder. Obtain bar soap from Ms P
8) Go on the ladder and spread the dry bar soap on the rail to provide some lubrication
9) Descend from the ladder. Test the curtains from the ground level. Result: they don't slide
10) Admit you ran out of time and ideas
Time to report back to Ms P!
"Thank you for all your efforts today. That will keep me smiling for weeks! That was the most efficient help I've ever had here."
