Nothing is going to stop our persistence to clean up the River Rea cycle route! On a drizzly Monday evening four runners met up at Hazelwell Park to endeavour on a cold plogging mission.

Morwenna and I headed over to the meeting point to find Karin ready and waiting after a run around Cannon Hill Park, scouting out the litter situation on her way. When joined by Liam we headed off to fill a bag of recyclables and rubbish, and it appears that those who litter also fail to finish their drinks!

After a few months of plogging we are pleasantly surprised with the improvement in the area (yes we are taking the credit… even if the weather means less people milling around!). The best find was Morwenna's creepy plastic hairdressing head – not needed now that hairdressers are open.

We cut the session a little short this evening, with nights drawing in there might be only a few more chances to head out before putting plogging into hibernation for the winter. To echo the 1000 Trades days of the past, Morwenna, Liam and I managed to sneak in a cheeky pint at the Bournbrook Inn, before the rules change on Wednesday.
