.... P for pallets of course, what were you thinking?

Thanks to everyone for a lovely first week back from holiday and post birthday run! It's good to be back.

So tonight we headed off to the Foodbank for the first time since Christmas (where did that time go?!). Before starting the task we got to see the new warehouse before the flooring and shelving goes in - good lighting for photos. As donations have been fairly quiet, and our efficiency is now well known, it was time to help with the stock take. This involved plenty of lifting and shifting (Angela and Tony demonstrated their power lifting prowess), clipboards, logistics and weighing - Maura bagged the best job of shouting out the weights!

Judy's team were super swift and made their way through lots of different categories. Laura's team took on the downstairs day room and almost finished the whole thing in the time. Jo's team got through fewer categories but mainly because they started with the large task of hot drinks which included balancing 7 crates on the scales. Top tip for balance.... make sure your flaps are down.

After we'd got to the end of as many categories as we could in the time and stopped for the obligatory photo outside the church premises, we headed up the road to the park at Landport for some relay sprints. Teams were randomly allocated but Team D (for dream) - Angela, Tim and Sam were super speedy and managed to get loads of laps in the allocated time - impressive stuff & good efforts all round.

We finished up with post stretch cake at the community centre for the big set of birthdays: me & Mel (who was forced to stay at work tonight) on Easter Sunday and Sam & India coming up at the end of April, before the next Wednesday run. Lots of Taureans in the group.... there's a pun about bull in there somewhere!

RUNS AND EVENTS NEWSFLASH:

Coming up on Saturday we have a community mission to Naomi House and then we're into our birthday month of May... here's the huge list just for the first fortnight:

See you all soon in your red (or black) t-shirts!
