Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Ellie Dove (She/her)
4 GG Yorkies ran to help Mrs H flip her mattress and move her fridge.
Before the task even started, GoodGym York were creating a stir in Acomb! Whilst waiting for Ellie to arrive, Max, Maddy and Paul were accosted by a local, ready to berate them over their love of Jeremy Corbyn, before realising that their shirts said ‘GoodGym’ rather than ‘Labour Party’. Thankfully Ellie arrived and we all headed in to get on with the task.
We split into pairs to complete the jobs in record time. Ellie and Maddy flipped and rotated the mattress whilst the lads got on with the fridge. Mrs H had bought some rollers of Amazon, so she can roll her fridge out to clean underneath it. After ensuring the rollers were the right length for the fridge, Max and Paul pulled the fridge out and rocked it so the rollers could be slid underneath. Mrs H happily demonstrated the roller action for us, thanked us for our work and asked for fliers so she can tell all her friends about GoodGym. Ellie was thrilled to hear that Mrs H heard of GoodGym through her parish, which Ellie had targeted earlier in the year as part of a mission to spread the GoodGym word!
Things we have learnt from this mission: 1. The rollers are ace. We all want a set. 2. GoodGym Yorkies should always be active, even whilst waiting, to ensure we are not mistaken for political activists.
