Tonight we spent a lovely evening at the Wishing Well Allotment. The night was fairly short and sweet due to the rapidly decreasing light but it didn’t stop us from doing a good night’s work.

The hi-light of the evening though was celebrating Karen’s 100th task. Karen’s commitment to Goodgym is inspirational. Not only is Karen completely committed to Goodgym, she is also completely committed to serving her local community. Karen also delivers meals on wheels for the Wishing Well and is one of the Event Directors for Crewe’s Junior Parkrun. Karen has been a driving force behind the allotment and it would never have got off the without her. Karen, we are so proud of you and all that you do for Goodgym & your community.

At tonight’s mission, Maurice & Nigel set to work with the lawn mowers, making a splendid job of making the lawns look lovely again.

Karen and I set to work on harvesting the carrots. What a haul! My harvest of carrots was pretty big but nowhere near as impressive as Karen’s whoppers! They were a sight to behold. The carrots could certainly make a big batch of carrot soup for the Wishing Well clients! We also harvested some shallots – although we weren’t sure whether they were just stunted brown onions – but they made a great pun, so they’re shallots as far as we’re concerned!

At the end of the evening, Colin the caterpillar put in an appearance to help us celebrate Karen's 100th task! I think the box said the cake served 16 but we proved that it definitely didn't stretch that far! Colin was delicious!

Well done team, you are amazing and I love you all to bits xxx
