Another scorcher of a night tonight – so much so that we decided that it was for the best not to have a run this evening. It just wasn’t running weather… (unless you're as mad as a box of frogs!!!), it was sitting in a beer garden with a cold drink kind of weather (but have no fear, that would come later!!!).

Karen, Kimberley, Nigel, Maurice & Nicola set off on tonight’s task which was doing a town centre litter sweep. It was very warm but just about bearable, and a really nice evening to be out enjoying the summer sun (we have to make the most of them when we get them!).

As always, there was plenty of litter about to be picked up and we collected 4 big bags full. It was lovely to hear someone passing by in a car, shout ‘Thank You’ out of the window... it was nice to feel appreciated. We had another passer by who stopped to help us collect some litter too. It turned out that he needed some practical help, so with our contacts at the Lighthouse Centre, we were able to get some immediate support sorted out for him. I guess we were just in the right place at the right time and it was nice to be able to offer some help.

At the end of the evening, we headed over to Hops Bar for a well-deserved cold drink (there may also have been one or two nibbles!). We sat outside (another rarity) with our drinks and had a good natter as we whiled away the evening together. It was lovely and we didn’t feel even the teeniest bit cool…..

Thanks for sharing your evening with me. It was as lovely as ever and you were as amazing as always.

Have a great week. Lots of love, Nicola xx
