In case you've never had to do this before, let me give you a heads-up that buying a slab of angel cake for someone else is quite stressful....

There's the looking (and looking, looking, then looking again) for an undamaged piece, keeping it that way in your basket or trolley should you be using one (top tip, a trolley with a separate 'end' section would be ideal here), packing it in such a way that it stays undamaged (if you were lucky enough to find said aforementioned piece), carrying it to it's intended destination without damaging it (your rucksack is not, I repeat NOT suitable here - don't worry, I didn't dare!!) and finally handing it over, hoping and praying just a little that the lovely person you're buying it for will handle it with a bit of care and attention to where's it's to be stored, so it really is undamaged by the time they want to eat it. Then they can enjoy it in all it's well deserved glory, wings and everything!

Of course, getting it out of the packet without damaging it is a whole other story (or maybe it's just my own impatience for some lovely cake. It would, to be honest, be easiest to eat it as soon after purchase as possible, maybe even at the till point, therefore being able to avoid several of the above steps) and today this was not my problem ;-) I think it might have got a little close to the the sharp edged box of Weetabix, but here's hoping Mrs A enjoys it nonetheless.

Sooooo, another successful shopping trip for the angelic Mrs A, including her Sure choice of deodorant. My legs felt nice and fresh today after a day off running yesterday, despite this morning's 5k; that'll be the red GoodGym jersey of joy helping me along X
