T'was the race before Christmas, when all through the city Not a creature was stirring, not even Notorious P.I.G.gy The red shirts were hung by the door with care, In hopes that the parkrun day soon would be there.

With a well know race director, so lively and brave, I knew in a moment it must be our Dave. More rapid than eagles his volunteers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Gary! now, Jon! now, Caroline and Paul! On, Matt! On, Richard! on Pru and all! It's slippy with mud, make sure you don't fall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

So here it is, this is the first of GoodGym Bristol's parkrun tour with our very own Dave in charge as race director at Little Stoke parkrun, and a festive seven GoodGym folk came along to run.

Richard ran his first ever parkrun in 29:57, Caroline (27:57), Gary (20:37) and Jon (24:26) all ran their first ever ones away from Ashton Court, so welcome to parkrun tourism and congratulations.
Sadly Pru forgot her barcode #DFYB! and Paul forgot how to count and stopped after two laps! Gary forgot his trainers, and had to borrow mine... but despite this he took two minutes off his parkrun PB! Amazing running!

So a huge thanks for coming along there are some more photos here, and a massive thanks to Dave and his team of volunteers for putting the run on. We also chatted to a few people after the race so we may have recruited some new members.

The award for the performance of the day is between Richard and Gary, and I think Gary just wins it, with honourable mentions to Dave of course.
