Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
13 awesome individuals headed out into the darkness to help St Luke's set up for their Easter event where they will offer food, drink and books to the local community whilst two others headed off for a mission with a rather large bush.
The days are getting longer and the temperature has started to rise which can only mean ONE THING! Summer is on its way...
This evenings task was only a stones throw away so after a quick briefing on how it all works we made our way the half mile to see the lovely Betsy.
With 45mins on the clock to complete a task that normally takes 3 hours we had to move fast. Let the transformation begin.
We had to move all chairs to the front of the church, replace chairs with tables, arrange tables, bring back chairs, cover all tables with paper table cloths, put knives, forks, spoons in tissues, lay out cutlery, plates and glasses and finally fill goodie bags for kids.
The great thing about this is that on Friday everyone from around the local community will bring different dishes from their different cultures and everyone will eat together under one roof. A perfect example of community cohesion.
Whilst we were doing this a few of our wonderful GoodGymers took turns in playing the piano to help sooth and motivate us.
45 minutes later the transformation was complete. We said our goodbyes and headed to THE BLOCK . Stairwell sprints, 8 floors, up and down baby, up and down concentrating on arm drive, knee drive and of course landing softly and floating like a leaf.
After a few reps we headed back to another BLOCK for BLOCK SPRINTS , Some high 5s, stretching and a whole lot of love.
Amazing session, great effort, great work.
See you next week.
