No Saturday morning is truly complete for me now without a parkrun and a trip to Asda for Mrs J!

In usual fashion, her daughter V had sent me a list over the night before…

‘Hi super woman Lucy,

Thanks for volunteering to do mum's shopping tomorrow, again! Please can you get her:

1) small potatoes x1pack 2) custard tarts x1pack of2 3) mr Kipling French Fancies x1pack 4) aero chocolate mousse (or any other) x1pack 5) Walburtons medium sliced white bread x1 small or half loaf 6) small potatoes x2 tins 7) galaxy smooth milk chocolate x10 ( she got lots in an M& S delivery on Wednesday) 8) any small plant that takes your liking as she sounds bit low. Unlike me she doesn't like flowers but I still get them for her as they are cheering!

All the best,

V’

Mission accepted, I chose a lovely little indoor rose to keep Mrs J company. Hoping it would be cheerful but not too much maintenance. I knew Mrs J liked roses, as during the summer she had a beautiful rose bush out in her front garden!

I also went for 12 bars of galaxy, instead of 10 (would rather have too much that too little after the previous weeks dramas). It felt almost like Valentine’s Day had come 9 days early, what with the chocolates and flowers?!

I delivered the goods to Mrs J, who was cheered up instantly. We had a chat, and she made sure I go home straight away once I’d finished work. I had to explain that I come every week out of the goodness of my own heart, ‘well in that case you’d best go home now then!’… What a charmer. She did wave me off with a kiss and a thank you mind, got to keep me keen some how!
