8 hardy goodgymmers battled the elements and were eventually rewarded with some lovely sunshine on Sunday as they helped Luke at the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve to spruce up the place.

Haringopoly!

Nurjehan and Kapil have gone and completed the board already, and there are 12 other live players trying to follow in their footsteps at the moment. Or if you fancy doing it in just one go, join us for a slow-as-a-turtle social marathon on Sunday!

Fernilicious

It was a cold and cloudy morning as we gathered at the Reserve. With no time to lose, we all proceeded to ... erm... have a nice old chinwag while Luke and our very own London Park Ranger Charlie assigned us some tasks.

Before too long, our goodgymmers finally sprung into action, with a team litter picking the tree avenues, another team collecting the fallen leaves for future mulching, and another team planting ferns.

One of us even managed some comically amateurish tree surgery, getting rid of a fallen tree branch putting pressure on a street light next to the Reserve.

How the buzzed these goodgymmers. It was like a little tornado of goodness around the Reserve. Easy.

We then gathered to say our goodbyes, but not before I was wrestled away from some mushrooms that were, in all likelihood, 100% not edible.

Group pics acquired, we all galloped our ways into the sunshine with the satisfaction of a job well done. And free from any mushroom poisoning.

Join us on Wednesday to help spread some good old Christmas cheer!

Help locals create a nature reserve

"The Westbury Banks Nature Reserve is a community lead project to transform derelict land into a nature reserve. All work on the site is on a voluntary basis and the management of the site is done free of charge! There are big plans to install a storage unit for the equipment, a mural, a log path with wood chipping, a pond for amphibious for wildlife and a grand insect hotel

What's a trip to Westbury Banks without a spot of foraging though?

Ermmm - the photos of the overdressed GGymmer!!! Yes please to Wednesday. Last year we even sang - even if one or two of us were out of tune.
