Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a gorgeous night for doing good and getting fit, five runners met at Wanstead House to paint a giant fence and explore the local area.
The sun was shining, it was warm and the runners of GG Redbridge didn’t have a care in the world as they merrily continued the job of giving Wanstead House – our weekly meeting point - a coat of fresh paint. Armed only with paint brushes and wood preserver the group set to task to try and get eight large fence panels painted in 45 minutes.
With the task done, it was time to hit the local trails and explore Wanstead Park. With Tina as our knowledgeable guide the group navigated their way through the dusty paths and single-track trails. Light is fading fast at this time of year and Team Redbridge are keen to make the most of the offroad opportunities before it becomes to dark to run in the Parks. 5km was covered in 35 minutes – a leisurely run with lots of stops to admire the views.
On return to Wanstead House, the group stopped to check out their handy work one last time. The job isn’t quite finished yet but a couple more visits should see the remainder of the fence complete. It’s already looking so much better. Five minutes stretching ended the evening’s affairs and sent the runners off fight fit for another week.
Huge thanks to everyone who came and helped make our home a nicer place. Some good running too! Big shout out to Peter who completed his 15th GoodGym task last night – well on the way to the BIG 5-0.
Hope to see lots of you at the run next week. You can sign up by following this link.
