On a warm and muggy night James and Peter finally finished painting the last of the 28 fence panels before heading for a 5km run around Snaresbrook and Wanstead.

With delays on the central line and a few runners stuck at work it was down to James and, GoodGym Redbridge/Hackney stalwart Peter to finish off the fence that surrounds Wanstead House Community Association. Given the size of the fence it’s been a multi-week job but the final four panels were completed and a brilliant task comes to an end.

With the task done the duo set off to run a new 5km route which heads down the high street, through Snaresbrook and through local quiet streets. With Peter suffering just a little from the weekend’s first rugby fixture, the pace was more about stretching out achy muscles than setting PBs. However, in future weeks this could become an excellent time trial route.

On return to base, James went through some easy stretching focusing particularly on easing tightness in the lower back, glutes, hamstrings and quads.

The group meets again next week at 6:45pm at Wanstead House. Bag drop, changing facilities and secure bike storage available. Come and help make Redbridge a better place and get fit at the same time.
