Arriving at our meet-up point, we wondered whether it’s always this quaint and quiet in this neck of the woods, or whether a certain football match meant that everyone was indoors watching. We moseyed on down to Mrs M’s home and she showed us through to a beautifully maintained garden which was quite the sun trap and host to some beautiful shrubs and flowers (Mrs M told us all about how she’s designed the garden and transformed it herself and that there were strictly only white flowers allowed - and they really were beautiful). Mrs M had been working on the garden herself but struggled to do the weeding and pruning bushes near to the ground. So in an event like this, who you gonna call? Good Gym! And, without intending, we turned up dressed as GG twins - not only matching T-shirts, but matching black shorts, sunglasses and side ponytail - could we have created the complete GG mission uniform?

After a mini tutorial about weed identification and hedge pruning, Laura beavered away at her patch of weeding whilst Samia worked on her hairdressing skills giving the bush a cut back. It was a hot summer’s day and the garden was quite the sun trap - but after a dose of sun cream, we happily nattered away whilst pruning and weeding and time flew by.

Mrs M showed us some top tips along the way and we decided that we could call ourselves gardeners by the end of our session! Feeling a lot more clued-up and green-fingered, we cleared the weeds and trimmings into the containers and Mrs M thanked us for making her path a lot clearer and beds a lot more weed-free.

Mission accomplished! And congratulations Laura on your first GG mission 👍
