What a difference. Three weeks ago we visited this oasis of calm to help M and D with their self made nature area. Fast forward to today and the weather couldn’t have been more different on what felt like a beautiful spring day. This time we returned with reinforcements. Welcome to ‘4 Sunday mission’ Zdeni and ‘Quick Draw’ Mel. Our mission was to clear an area around the bench so that M and D (and Alfie) could sit out to enjoy the area and to generally carry on where we had left off clearing ivy and brambles.

Armed with some beautifully sharpened tools we set to work clearing. On the journey we met Bigbee the big bee and ‘Two plank’ David demonstrated his amazing bramble squashing skills (see him in action below). How many people can you get in the sack? We also saw the starts of flowers appearing in the garden, which was great to see. Tea break in ten minutes, yay! Sat out in the garden we chilled out for a while drinking tea and eating biscuits. With new found vim and vigour we returned to do a bit more. In no time the bags were definitely full this time and we said our goodbyes (after testing the seat we cleared of course).

A wonderful afternoon out in a garden with great people, with the added bonus of Alfie and the lovely M and D. Do Sunday afternoons get any better than this? (Answer: no)
