Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Rachel Henry
A few of us had never actually been to Maryon Park, having only ventured to Maryon Wilson Park so it was lovely to discover a new green space and this beautiful community garden this morning. We were welcomed by the wonderful Tim and Edna who have been running the community garden for the last 10 years and what an amazing job they have done!
We spent a happy hour weeding, chatting and Julian and Ulysse, were busy lugging around big bulky things - was it panels of wood? Anyway, whatever it was you managed to clear a lot!
Sarah has just joined taskforce (welcome Sarah!) so can start finding and leading community missions around Greenwich. Linda is approaching her 50th good deed - well done Linda, we'll have to pop the prosecco when you reach the big 5-0!
A lovely morning topped off with some carrot cake #bestcakeintheworld
This will be a monthly community mission on the first Saturday of every month while there's jobs to do in the garden. We'll time it so that when the Charlton Parkrun starts up we can go straight from that to do some gardening here!
Lovely to see you all - enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend and until next time!
