Four of us got up a bit earlier than usual to squeeze a morning community mission in. We arrived at Lambeth Walk GP Practice to help the Lambeth GP Food Coop dismantle a large old planter (which had been there for 10 years!) to make room for a new one.

The wood was so rotten and soft, most of the planter was quite easy to dismantle without any tools. For the parts which were a bit trickier, we each took turns with the hammer which turned out to be very cathartic!

We'd dismantled most of it with 15 minutes left to go so two of us finished off the planter and the other two started looking at the next planter. The next one still had soil in it so we uprooted some plants to save then started shovelling. The soil was so densely packed and heavy that we only managed to shift one wheelbarrow of it before time was up.

What an awesome amount achieved in a short time and we've got plenty more to help with on another occasion 💪
