Two GoodGym members helped out the NHS and City Council with the coronavirus outbreak in Leicester

Today there were two, Stu and Huw. We arrived at the Merlyn Vaz Health Centre to help with the volunteer effort encouraging local residents to get tested for coronavirus.

The NHS lead Mayur asked for volunteers to take areas further away from the centre today and of course GoodGym want to get those miles up so we were straight onto it. Off we set on our 20 minute walk to our allocated streets, armed with our translated instruction sheets. Door to door we went sharing the information about the mobile testing site locations, how to book a test and when and where they could go. The rain came down and ruined our Gujarati instruction sheet which proved tricky but we got the message across to everyone we managed to speak to one way or another!

Back at base we were rewarded for our 6km walk with a healthy lunch bag! Back again tomorrow but this time from Belgrave Health Centre as the operation moves to target different parts of the city.
