Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Last night saw 6 runners cruise 3.5k down to Plaistow.
Meeting slightly later this week, Ros rushed in thinking she was tad bit late but in actual fact she was nice and early. With this extra time she proceeded to inundate us with knowledge of the colour Orange and it's origins. All I'm saying is poor red....I'm mean orange heads. I now expect weekly nuggets of wisdom from you all
Before setting off we welcomed another new runner to the group, Richard. As we stepped outside the light drizzle was a bit unnerving, (rain + strong winds can be painful) but it turned out to be nothing.
We set off to Urban Wilderness Community Garden which is very popular amongst the local residents to grow their own produce and for the kids who use it as a playground. Gloves on and tools in hand Andrena and Mairead got to work weeding the flower beds whilst Andy, Ros and Richard started moving, shovelling and spreading manure into the other beds.
Turns out it wasn't just any old poop,
this was 2 year old stallion manure from the horses that competed at the 2012 Olympics. insert gasps. As the guys got stuck in Jacquie explained the dramatic delivery of said manure, which made working with the stuff that little bit more special. Flower beds tended to, we set off back to the park with bus stop sprint intervals.
Don't forget Monthly drinks tonight in Russell Square.
Same time next week
