‘That lightbulb moment when, weeding between the lines, we realise our fellow goodgymers are barking mad’

Helen welcomed us back this evening to Poole Old Town Children’s Centre. All the equipment was lined up ready for us plus bulbs for planting and bark for spreading. Great to have Zoe join us and she was soon planting daffodils alongside Nicola and Christine. Hannah quickly set to spreading the bark whilst Patricia did a very professional job planting some pots. Ali and Elizabeth tackled the weeds including some fearsome stinging nettles. The dandelions however were just a task too far and general conclusion was that a school goat needs to be put on the payroll. It was a beautiful evening and we all appreciated the fact that probably one of the last times we can garden in daylight. By the end the garden looked so much tidier and hopefully there will be a host of golden daffodils to admire next spring. Then time for a socially distanced group photo and some head scratching for a suitable mission title. We said our goodbyes to Helen as Nicki and Ali headed out on their homewards run through town. Zoe, Christine, Hannah Pat and Liz headed to the sea and enjoyed the run to Keyhole Bridge and then Hannah, Pat and Liz, having admired the sun setting over Poole park lake, ran back towards Old Poole. Missed having Esther with us tonight - getting us organised, inspiring the puns, coaching us to make that extra running effort and, of course doing the group selfie. Next time x

Thank you to Task Force for this weeks task and Elizabeth for report! Awesome to have another new face in the team with Zoe - I look forward to meeting you again! Helen from Children's Centre is doing an amazing job creating a great place for families to go with support at the centre. We hope to return again next month!
