Three intrepid GG runners ran 5 miles and whizzed through 10 Strava Segments (or wheezed through in my case).

Following a route set by Sadistic Steve, who was unfortunately not able to join us due to injury, we left the warmth and comfort of the Showroom to start with Good Gym Sheffield’s favourite Strava Segment, Short Cote de Howard – never ceasing to amaze that something that is only 0.07 of a mile long and has only 24 feet of elevation (we are in Sheffield after all) can seem quite so hard.

From there it was up to the City Hall, trying to outsprint Jess Ennis by her gold post box; dodging the drinkers on Division Street & Devonshire Green; enjoying a spooky, adrenaline fuelled, run through the cemetery (just as well one of us had a head torch!); and finally, a half mile lap around Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground.

They say that “if it’s not on Strava it didn’t happen”. My body says they’re wrong – it did! A great training run – thanks to Steve for planning and those who came along. I’m sure this run will be repeated … don’t miss it next time!
