The (allen) iKEYa was the secret to our GG mission bed-dismantling success (groan!)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Richmond.
- Thursday, 14th of November 2019
Natasha and Karen met up at Mr B's to take on the task of dismantling and removing an old Ikea bed to make room for a shiny new one so Mrs B can come home from hospital after her diagnosis of MS.
Mr B was at first slightly dubious about the ability of two 'slip of a girls' to complete the task but we soon reassured him of our GG credentials (our GG tee-shirts certainly made an unexpected impression!) and they soon got cracking with the task at hand.
Mr B provided a selection of screw drivers, wrenches and spanners but they weren't quite the right fit to tackle the assortment of bolts, nuts and screws (we've all been there with Ikea haven't we...?) Stepping up to the plate, Natasha further reinforced her GG skills and strong-armed a particularly nasty bolt with her bare hands ... she's some strong woman isn't she Mr B?? He was suitably impressed!
After a hunt around for his elusive allen key, Mr B ensured the GG'ers did indeed complete a successful mission and in quick time they dislodged the last couple of screws. With a final bit of lifting and manoeuvring, they deposited the dismantled bed frame and mattress outside for collection; leaving a nice space for Mrs B to come home to.
The GG'ers bade their farewells to a very grateful Mr B and were very happy in the knowledge they had shown their credentials and hadn't been defeated by the Ikea enigma code... at least on this occasion! :-)
