Report written by Manjit Birk
Tonight's original task of painting outdoors in a school had to be rescheduled to an indoor task for an after-school club due to forecasted rain...
Then out of the blue...I remembered that Eva had a mammoth task of getting her new Artful Hub unit ready. And just like that - cos that's how we roll...we now had an indoor painting task organised (all by 07.30am!). We even managed to dodge the rain en route to the task!
Roll on Spring
We will be glad when the weather stops disrupting our well-oiled plans and as much as we love the outdoors, we were grateful for an indoor task tonight. On arrival Eva gave us a tour of the unit and explained the vision of what the unit will be used for. We then set off to work with some background music to keep us entertained.
It was a surreal task being in the ex Body Shop unit and with all the supplies laid out for us we cracked on - we are a dab hand now at painting!
Pam and Sandy started with the white washed brick wall as they sang along to 'just another brick in the wall'
Nimi was aspretty as a picture on her green wall making it white - such a 'wonderwall job*
Abdulaziz and Gauri took the back wall and just kept rolling until it as alwhite
Around 50 minutes in we had given half the unit a good coating and we were a splash with happiness on our efforts! A few more visits will be required to get the unit fully ready and we as always will be ready to help Eva and the team whenever we can.
After a well deserved biscuit (or 2 or 3), we headed back out into the pouring rain ready to run back to our start off point.
