Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
After spending the morning at Old Alleynian Rugby Club doing a bit of cutting and maintenance of hedges, Sam and his friend Sam joined Andrea and Kathryn at St. Faith's to set up the community room for the Open House (refugees come and select items for free) tomorrow. However, there were loads of donations, especially for the first person who seemed to clear out his house as there were endless bags of clothes and toys. Sam (number 2) wanted to get a system going in terms of categorising the storage room, but bags of clothes and items come and go on weekly basis that it's better just to put those donated bags straight in without sorting it. We only sort it when we want to display the items for the Open House.
The hour drifted by quite quickly as we displayed all the items from the storage room in the community room whilst new donations went into the storage room.
There's no Get Rid Of And Donate session next week, but it's back on the 12th of June!
Don’t let your rejected items end up abandoned on streets or in landfills, where they can sit disintegrating and damaging our environment. Reach out to Get Rid Of and Donate, arrange a free collection for your unwanted goods and help us be there for everyone who needs us.
